I had the opportunity to travel to Israel with our church for a 9 day tour. It was a different kind of trip for me, going with a tour guide and having everything planned out ahead of time. I was lucky to be able to take Pastor Steven Trint from Uganda with me. It was an exciting journey we got to share together. I’m going to be posting a new journal post for each of our 9 day stops.

These were the main stops we made along the tour on our first day:

Kiriath-Jearim: This is where the ark of the covenant initially resided before King David moved it to Jerusalem (1 Samuel 7). The road to Emmaus is located nearby.

Khirbet Qeiyafa: Next we traveled to the Valley of Elah where David fought Goliath.

Adullam: We went down into caves where many people used to live. Also, this is where David hid from King Saul. He wrote some of the Psalms in the in these caves.

Beersheba: Lastly, we walked through 4,000 year-old ruins. There is an old well, which is the site where Abraham made a covenant with Abimelech.
