I confess I have not done a very good job attempting to learn a bit more of Luganan, the local language. One of my objectives on this trip is to learn a bit more of it. Despite my lack of linguistical efforts, one of my favorite things to do is to interact with the local children. Whether they find me walking up and down the road with my camera in hand, or see me flying my drone, they often seek me out. It was ends with me taking their photo. They love to strike a pose, then embarrassingly giggle when I show them what I just took. It truly is the language we both understand, and no words are needed. No matter how well I end up learning Lugandan, this will always be the language I prefer to speak in.
